Goddards Brewery

Building A Future

ERMC were commissioned by Goddards Brewery to develop a proposal for an enlarged brewery facility to incorporate a visitor experience, staff offices and storage warehouse. Goddards Brewery has expanded over the operational period and hope’s to continue to do so in the future. Finding a suitable replacement site to relocate their existing facility is important to the ongoing success of the business.

Visitor experience

In addition to brewery production and administration there
was a desire to create a visitor experience that would include education information, tasting events, process explanation, in addition to a small retail opportunity for visitors and sampling the produce in a small dedicated bar area.

A first floor bar area serving light refreshments and lunches has an internal viewing deck over the brewery and bottling facility through a glazed screen. This space also includes an external sheltered viewing balcony looking out to the landscape and south facing views.

Access considerations

Cycle parking is provided as the Cowes to Sandown cycle network is relatively close to the site for visitors arriving by bike. Also, the existing public transport bus service has a stop within a reasonable walking distance. The location of the site promotes sustainable and active travel options.

All vehicle parking is located to the rear of the site towards the north. The parking is designed to allow flexibility in respect to visitor numbers and cope with seasonal variation.
