ERMC architects in Hampshire were employed to collaborate with the construction of a new community centre as part of a Section 106 Agreement within a Persimmon Homes residential estate development. The design of the community centre had already received a successful planning approval in 1998 as part of the residential development that it was associated with.
It was ermc's task to take this approval and improve on the brief from a design and cost perspective making best use of the space.
Although the remaining funding was a long time coming, the project was finally completed in January 2013, providing a state-of-the-art, vibrant and friendly centre, highly valued at the hub of its community. The centre has become a meeting place for many groups and activity classes, as well as with the convenience for public general hire purposes.
