ERMC architects and surveyors worked together on a new Isle of Wight building design, a Children's Centre on the site of Sandham Middle School. The overall design needed to be strong and embrace the future, taking on board sustainability issues and energy conservation.
Solar water heating and a heat recovery system for the main activity rooms was incorporated, enabling the building's thermal properties to exceed the current building regulations requirements.
Wherever possible glazing has been brought down to floor level to provide not only visual interest, but to also allow the children to take account of their external environment.
Our design embodies these concepts through a fun and energetic approach that leaves anyone approaching the facility in no doubt of its purpose.
